Overview

The Summer Sale project was assigned to me with a tight deadline, requiring quick initiation and execution. In addition to overseeing program management responsibilities, I took charge of designing all the assets and managing communication—a role befitting the program owner's responsibilities.

Role

I assumed responsibility for this program, receiving a clear outline of the goals and the targeted discount percentage. Swiftly, I initiated meetings, delved into the design process, created prototypes, and contributed to the development phase to expedite the program's progress.

Process

Recognizing the time constraints from the outset, I proactively created a preliminary mockup by the second day to present to a group of colleagues. This step allowed me to gather insights before proceeding to the final draft and involving developers. Once the final copy and exact discount amount were provided, we swiftly moved forward with the ultimate design, making only a few minor revisions along the way.

Design

The pivotal design decision for this project centered around selecting a key visual that effectively showcased our product's uniqueness compared to competitors. The distinctive feature highlighted was our cloud-based interface, offering real-time commenting and other functionalities that set us apart in the market.

Hiccups along the way

I encountered a significant issue post-development when users in the wrong region were accessing the promotion, leading to a less-than-ideal experience. I raised this concern with the team, emphasizing the importance of a seamless user experience. The decision was made to implement Geo-IP technology to determine users' locations and present a pop-up notifying them that the promotion was not available in their region.

Take Away

Running my first solo campaign was a smooth and seamless experience. Things progressed so efficiently that my direct management almost missed the pre-launch phase. This successful execution served as a prime example of my attention to detail and ability to adapt to any given situation.
